John H. This is the bar I reach for in the morning (and to be honest, I just like smelling it too). The lavender and patchouli combination sounds like it could go either direction, too floral or too heavy, but they got the balance right. It's calming without smelling like a candle store.
The lather surprised me. Shea butter soaps can go either greasy or thin, and this one lands right in the middle. Skin feels clean, not stripped. My wife noticed the color too, that muted violet from the alkanet oil looks handmade in the best way, not dyed.
Small batch, palm free, does what it says. Five stars, and I don't hand those out for free.
